Hey man. You can rent the 32mm axle socket at AutoZone. When you return it you get your money back..

make sure that you get the 3/4" 32mm socket and the 3/4" breaker bar. The 1/2" 32mm socket doesnt cut it.

Ive dont a ton of axels and the 1/2 inch ratchet has worked for me just fine. Im pretty sure you need to remove the axels and even if its not needed it would make the job a whole lot easier...

I just removed both of those nuts for each side this weekend when I was doing some maintaince on my car. I did not even know it was 32MM I just used a big amercian socket and my impact wrench. It came right off. You are supposed to tq those nuts to 135ft/lb by the way. If you have a big enough american socket you should be fine.

what motor? if its a sohc u dont need to remove em from the hub just take em out of the tranny and move them aside,

if its a dohc u can just remove the passenger side one from the tranny and then just slide the trans out, it might take a little tugging, if it wont come out u can remove the drivers side out from the halfshaft and then unbolt the halfshaft.

You don't need to take out the axles from the HUB.

there is a way to drop your tranny without taking out the axle from the hub. But regardless you need to take off the axles from tranny and same for intermediate shaft. you can unbolt the lower control arm and put it aside

I just dropped and re-installed my tranny today and I left them in there, undo the lower ball joint nut, and pull it out like you were to replace it and leave it in there.

The problem I had though, is that they got in the way constantly and were a pain, so beware..
