role cage???
ok i want to put a role cage in my 93 civic si with a h22 where can i get one and how much or should i just have one made and how much to do that i want to keep the interior stock i dont want to have to cut it all up just for it to fit thanks
Unless your racing down the 1/4 mile with your german sheperd in the back seat, you dont need a roll cage!!
Okay...I'll be nice to you....so just go to your nearest import performace shop or american muscle shop and tell them to custom one for you
!!

if you dont want to spend much, and just want to bolt one in, then go to http://www.ioportracing.com. i believe that the four points are like 230 bucks.

This coming from a guy who wanted to put a 99-00 Civic front onto his 95 EX.
A lot of people who autocross seem to be using Autopower cages which are SCCA approved.

you can get a 4pt autopower bolt on for looks and little bit of stiffening. its good for 11's or was that a 6pt?
that will be able to keep backseats. but if you want to be able to have it be comfortable getting in and out. and keep all your seats. you need to do a custom setup.
and by the way, were you atco on friday?

Ok, this is speaking from 1st hand, personal experience. I had a H22 in my old 92 CX (no sway bars) hatchback and it was completely gutted (weigh approx 1900 lbs w/out me) and with the H22 in the car, I took it to the drag strip, road race course, and it was a daily driver. On the drag strip, not really needed until you're pushing a lot of hp (or a big shot of NOS) and get kicked off the track for no cage... had it happen to me before. For daily driving & road racing, it's not needed to an extent, but you can feel some major chassis flex going into turns fast, and the car wants to twist and not stay planted on the ground. We put a cage into our NASA challenge EG hatchback and even with a built B16 in there (a built H22 going in there later), the car is much more rigid and stays put on the ground. The stiffened up chassis is a very noticable difference than driving the completely gutted car. Now is this really needed for an everyday driver? Probably not but if you are going to be doing a lot of (road) racing, then it's something to definetley look into as it will make a difference in handling.
