tranny forks

does any one have a idea why the third fork rod wond budge i cant even get the shifter thing over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i found out what it is it is the reverse fork it wont go high enouf to lit the thing slide over to let it on to the third fork! what the hell! does any one know what the **** i am doing wrong! i am desperate!

ok so there are 3 forks see

fork number 1 will not move up high enouf to let the the shift arm part number 1&2 on the lower picture move over enouf to get to the fork number 3

What you are saying makes no sense.....I can say I'm pretty sure there isnt a problem with the shift fork. What is the car doing? When you try and put it in 3rd with the car off what does it do? How do 1st and 5th feel?

no no i just rebuilt the tranny it is out if the car i am moving the shifter with the shift arm not the shifter in the car it is tatally out i just put it back togeather and am testing to make sure it will shift

if you missaglined the synchro (i'm guessing you probably had the larger teeth in the gap instead of the larger grooves) you could have broken a synchro spring, you may want to check them. the synchro spring is the little metal ring in each synchro set.
