what kind of lubrications to put on oil gasket or other gaskets?

Default what kind of lubrications to put on oil gasket or other gaskets?

i just got done putting everything on my block and heard that i have to put some lubrications on the gaskets to avoid leaks. i was wondering what kind of lubrications do you guys use for your oil pump, water pump, oil pan, headers and intake, etc....? what do you guys recommned.

Nope no need for "lubes" or anything, just make sure the mating surfaces are clean from dirt, oil,and other foriegn material. Save the lube for your girlfreind! LOL

I know a lot of people use HondaBond on the mating surfaces of their gaskets (i.e. waterpump gasket, oil pan gasket, thermostat housing gasket, etc.). Personally, I use Permatex Orange RTV. I also use Loctite Red on my rod bolts, oil pan bolts, and oil-pickup bolts. I use Permatex Anti-Seize on my exhaust manifold bolts also ...just a few personal things; good luck.
