oil pan keeps leaking
I've changed the oil pan gasket twice, it's still leaking. How much should I torque the nuts/bolts to? I torqued them to 9lbs, but it seems like that's too much, because it's squeezing the gasket out to the side. Also, i think my oil pan is warped, the holes where the bolts go, it's rising up a little. I hate leaks, this is shitty. Any advice?

I second that. Mine oil pan leaked after my install (except at idle) and it was the gasket. I took it off, applied that RTV crap AND the OEm gasket and it sealed perfectly. No leaks

i put RTV on both sides of the gasket. I heard that's not good? I also heard that its better to not use RTV at all? One other thing I just noticed was, that on my stock 2000 b16 oil pan gasket, it has metal rings built inside the gasket where the bolts go. But on the ones I bought from the acura dealer(i bought ITR gaskets) they did not have these metal rings..Whys that?

Not sure about the metal rings, mine came with them for my ls. I dont have any leaks and I didnt use any RTV sealant. I just tightened the bolts down in a criss-cross pattern without using a torque wrench. Just made sure the bolts were "snug".
Also, just because it leaks dont go out and buy another gasket, thats a waste of money. The gasket lasts a long time when properly installed and can be reused.(unless its royally fuxored)

This exactly what I did and it worked fine

i know for a fact that the gasket it busted. I can see some of the gasket coming out of the side, the bolt put a slit in it from the pressure, and is being squeezed out to the side.
