Well my 3rd gear syncro had been grinding for the past year or so. I finally put some Gm syncromesh in it. Now 3rd gear stopped grinding.

Now just recently 4th gear grinds now... WTF??? I have a feeling since 4th is grinding, its all down hill from here.

Car is a 97 GSr with 75k on it. Honda tranny syncros suck ***.

So now that 4th grinds, does 3rd still? I heard that syncromesh works good. Did you use the syncromesh modified version?

 

3rd gear does not grind anymore as a I stated.

I used the regular syncromesh GM fluid. I believe the other stuff has a friction modifiy in it if I remember correctly.

 

yes the friction modified syncromesh is the one that most ppl use (part # 12377916) thats still weird tho, that 3rd is fine and 4th is now out?
