i overrevved my motor the other day past 9k and i have a rev limiter by 8. it scared the shlt out of me and im wondering if i f* my motor up b/c it seems to have lowered its idle to 100 rpm less. i notice it b/c i know my car well. any suggestions to wat i may f'd up, im also gonna check the codes b/c the check light came on after i restarted my car.

u may know ur car well... but not well enough to shift correctly!! u prolly bent a valve yO!

 

ya you probably fucked up your car

There may have been piston to valve contact, in which case your valvetrain is probably fucked... may have thrown a rod, but if the engine stars then probably not... Valves might be warped, and valtrain may be demolished... i wish you luck...

yep classic valve bender! go and check the codes and compression test

 

Do the valves sound louder than usual. Rough idle? Sputtering exhaust? If so its a valve or more.

yea it does suck... same thing that happened to me but it gives u good reason to build up ur top end

 

a valve is bent possibly ur compression dropped as well
