i need some answers plz. i hear a underneath the car coming from the exhaust. i have bombed out the bottom from speed bumps enough times, and it shakes and rattles whenever i accelerate and let go of the gas. im thinking its the connection between the cat and exhaust. is it fixable by tightening some bolts or will a gasket or new bolts be in order? wat else should i be looking into b/c i've already took out the heat guard for the cat.

 

Is it a stock exhaust? Have you checked to make sure all the hangers are in place, sometimes when i hit speed bumps it knocks the hangers out of place...

check ALL heatsheilds... Integra's have problems with those......

 

Is your cat messed up? Maybe you've broken up some of the material inside from bumping it and its shaking around from all the exhaust pushing out. Just an idear.

 

1 of the hangers did break, so i guess ill have to weld it back...any body have this problem often when hitting the exhaust due to low rides?

 

Your car is probably slammed by the sound of it.

Your driving is probably not the best either by the sound if it

lift the car and check the mount points for the B pipe and cat. If there is a leak in the headers, you would know by the loud groans in the front. chances are your pipe and possibly the hangers are damaged. Cant say without actually seeing photos or the car. best to lift it and see.

nicely put IntEGNYC, there is a leak like u said(headers/gasket/cat), but i also think the sound is coming from the gasket of the exhaust/mufflers. i fixed the hangers but the rattles still remains. im thinking its the gasket between exhaust/muffler or the exhaust itself. i would take pictures but i have no camera. . so my question is should i replace practically all gaskets? also wat are the side effects of not replacing gaskets when installing new cat-back exhausts?

 

i have the same problem with my stock exhaust for over a year. Now it is hanging loose.. I think one of the hangers broke out. I'm going to wait, and just buy a new greddy evo exhaust, so they can fix it and put new gaskets too.

 

so i ended up hanging hte exhaust back up and checked it it was hitting anything while it was loose. all seems well, but i still hear the rattle. my ? is wat happens if any of the exhaust gaskets go bad? cuz i have no clue wat the rattle comes from and can it possibly be the exhaust, inside it itself?

 

would replacing cat help any of this? maybe get a carsound or straight pipe

 

Check, and recheck ALL the heatshields. Its very common for g3 integras.

When does it rattle? all the time, certain rpms?

Have someone listen to see if they can pinpoint approx where it is coming from. Could be alot of things.

Try heatshields first.

 

heatshields been removed already. now im just tryin to pinpoint where exactly. still dont know...

 

would replacing gaskets help? i do have slight exhaust leak.
