What are your exhaust preferences?
I'm in need of a new exhaust. When I bought my car, it had a garbage OBX exhaust on it that the guy before me used for some reason. We just recently had a pretty big snow storm up here and I had to work in it. Apparently they don't plow snow on streets out here often when it snows, so I had to fight through it to get to work. Anyway, I hit a few pieces of ice, I heard something hit really hard on my exhaust, and now I'm missing all of the nuts on the bolts that connect the exhaust to the cat. The bolts are still there, and luckily holding my exhaust on. The sucker rattles like you wouldn't believe, it sounds terrible. I had planned on getting rid of the OBX crap anyway, this is just a more urgent push in that direction.
I've got a 93 EJ1 with a Z6 in it, stock cat, etc. So what are your stories and opinions on a good exhaust? I don't want to spend $1000 on an exhaust, but I'm not going to replace it with another cheap pile either.

Re: What are your exhaust preferences?
My preferences for an exhaust is that it has to be quiet and stock looking. My vote goes to the RSR Ex-Mag and the Apexi WS.

Apexi WS2 is where its at. Good price, quiet and sounds great. I think the greddy exhaust sounds terrible personally. Look for clips on youtube if you want to know what they sound like.

I'm going to disagree with just about every suggestion in this thread. Why? They're overpriced. Methinks the best exhaust for a stockish Civic is made by your local muffler place. Get a Dynomax muffler, good resonator and appropriate size piping, and you're spending maybe 1/3 for something that sounds just as good, if not better than name brand off-the-shelf stuff.

you want something that sounds tight and performs, listen closely.
from the cat go 2 1/4" basic muffler shop tube, no resonator, to a 3" Flowmaster classic 40 single chamber center in center out, have the muffler shop weld on a straight 4" bevel tip no baffle barrel directly to the flowmaster case over the stock 3" outlet. The 4" straight barrel tip should be between 6" and 7" in length. On a z6 motor you will get a really nice low end tone and sweet all out growel.

ide say nothing done to the motor ide go with rsr exmag ro the ws2. i have the exmag love it quiet and looks good. in ur situation i would probably buy a nice muffler maybe a type r or sumthin and just have a shop pipe u and exhaust they do all the work and its cheap. my first 3 exhaust were done by my local shop and i bought the muffler and they welded a full 2 1/2 inch exhaust form header back to my muffler for 90 bux. cant beat it. i would rec. gettgin a resonator also with the exhaust if ur piecing one together.

I have a skunk2 and it's great.
BUT
After seeing the youtube clips of the Apxi WS2 I think I will get a WS 2 next time.
