Piston to valve clearances with CTR pistons and Skunk2 cams
Does anybody have this combination by any chance? Also my head is milled .020.
I got a fresh type R block that is just begging for higher compression pistons to go in it.
I'm just wondering if I would have any issues regarding this combination with my setup.
thanks in advance.

"ooooh, i'm jeff's new C5 block..... i really really want high compression pistons...."
dude, could always clay the assembly before you swap blocks..... if you're concerned.

You should have at least 0.040 piston to valve clearance for the intakes and 0.060 for the exhaust. Clay checking is the only way to tell, especially with a cut head...
I have that combo in my LS/VTEC, but I have a non-milled head. No problems at all. I think your budy is right: clay the assembly, it may be the only way to tell w/ a milled head. Off the record though, I think you should be O.K. -Later!

I haven't ben to the dyno yet, but I made 186whp/133 tq with CTR cams and USDM ITR exhaust manifold/cat. I now have the Skunk2 cams, DC JDM 4:1, and test pipe. I hope to at least be close to 200whp. We'll see!
