Spares list
So now that I have 98% of all the parts necessary to turn shell into a race car, I am starting to think about gathering some spares.
I'd love it if some of ya'll wouldn't mind sharing the list of what you take to the track. And if you're running a D16A6, even better. I hear the distributor tend to take a crap (bearing failure?) of that engine. How many should I take with me?
What else should I take along? And no, I can't take a whole other parts car with me...
TIA

Spares for the paddock:
Dist cap and rotor
plugs, wires
fuel filter, fuel line
brake pads
front rotors
Stuff I kept at home:
transmission
clutch
clutch hydraulics
radiator
front control arms
misc glass
distributor
Stuff you may want in addition to above:
axles (RX-7 doesn't have CV joints to wear out)
body panels
The way I figured it, SRX-7 was a large group, so if I didn't have something, I could more than likely borrow/buy one from somebody else. And since Summit was so close, I could run home for bigger parts.

Need a spare Dizzy-I have one for sale. Yes take one and a timing light. You might consider oil, filters, rags, jack and stands, spare ECU (I have one for sale). Extra lug nuts and studs are also a good idea if there is any question about them. The usual tools are in our kit along with duck tape in several colors, electrical items including tie-wraps. Be sure to have a jug with water and a bottle of water wetter or a premix of anit-freeze/coolant. Some of us carry a spare KILL Switch and even wiper blades. A set of new spark plugs and wires is also in our kit.
It is not really necessary to carry a full load of parts. Some folks will include a spare half-shaft and clutch in their supply of things. The D16a6 is a very strong engine and generally can be easily maintained at home. I will strongly recommend that you be able to do a full brake change at the track-have the handy impact driver for the screws in the tool box. We always have pads and fluid with us. The rear drum brakes if properly adjusted will last a very long time.
This list is based on the way our car is run-no enduro events so far.
Have fun

In addition to the above:
Fuses, brake light bulbs, coolant hoses, couple of spare hose clamps, some 16-18 gauge wire w/ crimp connectors and tool, alternator belt, a few spare nuts&bolts&washers, maybe a headgasket (based on the "if you have it you'll never need it" philosophy), zipties in assorted sizes.

thanks everyone for the tips. Here's the resulting spares list (to be developped as stuff breaks...)
- pads
- rotors
- brake fluid
- lug nuts and studs
- distributor
- dist. cap and rotor
- plug wires
- plugs
- water and water wetter
- rad. hoses
- hose clamps
- fuses, wires, connectors, light bulbs
- fuel filter
- oil filter
- oil
- alternator belt
- ECU
- tool kit
I could also add to this list a set of front and rear suspension pieces (upper and lower control arms, hubs with bearings, etc) along with some kind of sheet metal repair stuff in case of a big off, or hard contact.
ah, goody, more money to spend. I really need to find me a sponsor...

Your hubs are not integral with the brake rotor, correct? Then you probably need a spare hub/bearing unit as well. On the RX-7, the rotor had the hub cast in the middle, so I just bought a complete rotor, with greased bearing already pressed in.

Big F'in Hammer works just fine.

That's why all my RX-7 crap is for sale.
