i am compiling a list of spare parts that should be taken to the track with my road race car. since i have built a track only car, im assuming im going to break parts because of how hard ill be on the car. if you broke something at the track, add it o the list, i want to know what seems to readily break. cant miss a race becuase of a breakage!

here is what i have already:
1. brake fluid
2. engine oil
3. coolant/water
4. distributor cap and rotor
5. spark plugs
6. plug wires
7. coil
8. axels
9. wheels
10. timing belt/alternator belt
11. radiator hose
12.???

What kind of car is it? Being a Honda, you might consider having a front hub on hand. They're weak and should be changed every couple of races anyhow. Brake rotors are good to have on hand.

If you go to a new track, find out where the closest auto parts stores are BEFORE you need them. This will spare you some panic when you find that the thing that broke is the one thing you don't have on hand!

What is this for? Track day? Race?

Do you really need a coil? Just install a new one and you should be good for a few years.

Uhh, if you need a timing belt, you may as well bring a whole long block. Hondas are interference motors.

It really depends what you're doing. I being oil, brake stuff, plugs and a spare wheel/tire. And all the tools I need to install/fix common problems. Any other parts I borrow/buy from friends. But, I also don't tow, so don't have room for big bits and tons of spares.

-throttle cable
-zip ties, racer tape, wire
-tire repair kit
-extra lug nuts

hey D, you saying that your motor is just not going to stand up to the abuse? then yeah i believe you. if i were you id start building a strong block -in fact have the new motor standing by. im gonna need someone to race with when i get the LS going.

Don't forget Racers tape! My friend used it to hold up his rear bumper! heheh! Miscellaneous bolts too. Another firend lost one bolt from his Slave Cylinder. He finally got one from a cool Mazda guy!

Bring spare parts for yourself too! I bring water and energy bars. And some money for the snack bars when I get sick of the energy bars!

Head is overkill. If you need a new head, it's probably because something ran into something else, which means bottom end is probably damaged too.

I don't think anyone's gonna be pulling the head at the track. I only know a few nutballs willing to do that.

No one's listed JB Weld yet. This one is essential, especially if you don't have a tow vehicle and trailer! Forget about replacing the broken parts at the track, just repair them to a reasonable state to do what it needs to do (like get you home).

im glad you guys have a lot of input: however, specifically i am talking about spare parts needed so that i dont miss the final race on sunday. i will be towing the car so that doesnt matter. mainly its a disappointment to break b4 the final race. this is an integra fyi.
