Default USDm to JDM Gauge Cluster Help!

I just purchased a JDM gauge cluster. I know hoe to instal the cluster so that is not my problem.

What i was wondering about is the odometer....

Do I roll the new gauge cluster to match (taking into consideration miles to km conversion) the current milage on my current cluster?

I just don't want any future problems regarding the milage and I am not sure what is the correct thing to do.

Thanks

no, why would you do that?! from now on you better not take your car any place that documents mileage(i.e. oil change/tune up,etc..) because CarFax will catch you slippin' and you'll get popped for odometer fraud.

Your miles will be different. KMH miles to MPH miles are way off. My usdm cluster read at 106000 to be exact and the JDM cluster I bought had 108000 in KMH, so what I did was clock back the KMH mileage to match with my MPH mileage. Read exactly 106-106 thinking I'll know my mileage. But its off, I believe its like every .6 mileage is 1 KMH. (correct me if im wrong but they have it in the manual I believe) My car now reads 165k in KMH and I think I have about 145+mileage only.

Ok let me get this right, you are saying covert my miles on my USDM to KM. The on my new JDM cluster make it say the correct number of KM, thus keeping the mileage the same.

Did i get that right?

I was thinking that when I said "roll"..because I meant "roll" the new JDM cluster to have the same mileage my current USDM one has as and I should take into account the conversion from miles to km??

I think i got it.........am i right??

Your committing fraud once you install that cluster and start driving with it.

Actually it would be a roll forward since the KM has way less on it then my current one

Really I had no idea? Even if I am honest about the mileage?

yea just face it. If you get the JDM guages then your are commiting fraud there is no way around it. just get your self some nice reverse indiglo gauges. People are not going to care about your gages if you have a nice set of seats in your car. And those JDM Type-R seats are really nice

it's not fraud, go down to the registry, dmv, whatever it is where you live, you can fill out a form for the correct readings on both odometers and walah......it's legal, otherwise what would you do if your cluster broke.

some of you guys are completely ignorant.. sheesh.. do you do ANY research before you answer questions or do you just pull them out of your bum bum?? how do expect people with broken clusters to get them fixed?? hrmmm?? and what the hell do seats have to do with a clean looking cluster????

your options are as follows after consulting a police officer AND the DMV AND the acura dealership AND a reputable body shop:

1. Have any body shop install your gauge.. they will take the nessasary (or SHOULD) steps to add a little sticker to the back of the guage that has your original miles from your old cluster.

2. Do it yourself and register with the DMV, then the DMV will issue you a sticker for your gauge cluster....</TD></TR></TABLE>
