Tranny question
This isn't really Prelude specific as it's a general tranny question.
I just put in a used tranny and it's a bit notchy to shift. I have to rev match it when downshifting. The guy I got the tranny from said that it shifted fine when it was removed.
So my question is this:
If a tranny is removed from a car and sits in the open air (not outside though) with no fluid, will it mess up the tranny gears and synchros or will it be alright and just require a little time to "break in" or what ever?
Those who have used that GM synchromesh that had tranny problems before hand:
Did it take a little bit of driving to make it shift right?
Also, which is more highly recommended, the regular synchromesh or the friction modified. Everywhere these products are discussed, it's never really said which is best. Just that the are both liked.
