Jackson Racing supercharger installed, will not stop high-reving
Purchased a Jackson Racing Supercharger from another person who had it installed on a 1999 Civic EX. On the Jackson Racing site, it says that these two are the same kits.
Everything has been installed and when turning the car on, it rather than idling properly at like 750 rpms, it winds all the way up to redline really quickly with out any assistance from the gas pedal.
When looking under the hood, I didn't see any leaks or anything, nor did the throttle cable move any.
What could be causing this????
Please help.

We checked that too and we made it extremely loose, this didn't fix it either.
The throttle cable doesn't even move, that is the wierd thing. We cannot figure out what is telling the motor to rev like this.

Check all your sensors to make sure theyre properly plugged in.
That would have to be a HUGE leak to cause that. I would also check the throttle plate as well...did you replace all gaskets, and did you clean off 100% of the leftover material from the IM gasket.
What else was installed with the blower? what mods?

I would have to reiterate what others are saying, since it is going all the way to redline. If you have a vacuum leak, it is going to be large and you should be able to find it. When checking the throttle cable connection to the throttle, it should should be loose enough so that the deflection is between 1/4inch and 1/2inch. For it to redline, not only would the throttle cable have to be tight, but it would have to be so tight that it is stuck in full open position.
I have a related problem with a 94 GSR. I installed my jackson supercharger several years ago and have had no problems. Now, the car will not idle below 3500 rpm and stays within 200 rpm of this. There does not seem to be any vaccum leaks. The throttle cable is adjusted properly. Also, I don't think the problem is with the Fast Idle Thermo valve, since the problem occurs at start up and after it is warm. While the car is running, I can easily get the rpm back down to 750 rpm by using a screwdriver to manually adjust the rod which is connected to the Bypass Valve on the intake manifold assembly that comes with the Jackson kit. I'm thinking that the problem is a broken/bad bypass valve. But to replace it, I have to take off the throttle, intake manifold assembly, and the suprercharger assembly. This is a lot of work to perform not knowing that this will actually fix the problem. Any suggestions out there?
