Default type r head swap

i kno this is a type r forum but the eg form is refusing to help me so, i was forced to ask you guys... i have a b16a2 that i want to boost eventually but in the mean time i wanted a little more power, i was considering swapping on a type r head, will it be a direct bolt on or are there major modifications needed, also would it be good for my boosting plans?

It will bolt directly. Good luck with your setup.

why not just build the valvetrain of the head you have? maybe add some cams or something?

the bare head itself is the same.. the itr one just has mild porting..

it will bolt right on though, if you bought a new one..

the ITR has no porting...only physical work to ITR head is a 3-angle valve seat. They debur the intake ports where the seats are a TINY bit.

The ITR head is, however, cast with slightly larger ports than a b16a2. Look at the advantages and disadvantages of the situation, if you port your head and upgrade your valvetrain/cams/etc, then for the price of the ITR head you can have a head that will outperform just about anything you'll run into on the street. If you just replace the head with a complete ITR head, then you'll have either a spare, or something to sell to make back some of the money.

that and if you're going to boost.. look into other upgrades first, or i don't see why you'll even need something like this, other than valvetrain upgrade may help.
