Just recently my VTEC started enagaging at 6000rpm instead of the normal point. I checked oil and everything seems fine. My mods are stage 1 cams, cam gears, i/h/e, also Im not tuned because Im still waiting for my Hondata, but the VTEC engagement was fine about 1 week ago, this just happened recently...any ideas my car just hit 50,000 miles....
Thnx

yup its stock tach..i know its suppose to be off, but this was the first time i seen it on 6000rpm, i've seen it at 5800rpm even 5900rpm..I may be just going crazy but I just want to know if any1 has the same experiences

Jesus christ you can rev that high? At WOT my b16 hits vtec at 5 on the dot according to my dash, but if I'm easing the pedal it happens JUST after 5.. But 58.. god damn.

Mine has always crossed over at 6000 rpm, I never really stopped to think where else it might supposed to have cut on, oh well. The gearing is good enough so that once you're in vtec you pretty much stay there so I guess I never really noticed.

well my b18c in my si kicks in @5800 roaring.....and thats on my stock si cluster. I would say its got something to do with that vafc for sure. No biggie though.
I used to think the stock tach was off, but then on my last road trip I played around with vtec in fifth gear. My tach is very accurate, vtec engages at 5800 and disengages at 5600, fuel cut is right where it's supposed to be. I guesse it was just hard to tell before, driving in the city in 2nd or 3rd.

b18c1 engages at 4400...you're hearing the secondaries.
VTEC depends on 5 things to engage. Your eyes are not one of them.

You mean I don't rev to 9,200 rpm..

NO!! If you drive it again it'll break!! Instead, send me the car and I'll exchange it with mine. No charge to you except for shipping.
