B16 Distributor on JDM 94 GSR
Trending Topics
you can not use a obd2 vtec distributor on a obd1 motor unless you repin it . the plugs on the 2 are different. theres a post tom made some where on here that showed exactly how to do it . sorry i cant find it right now.

the solution is simple, sincehes using a 00 harness, and the distributor is 00,then its a plug and play affair, just set your distributor in the middle of each bolt that tightens it down, this is the stock setting, then grab out the timing gun and set your ignition, alot of the info is wrongon the read ,but some didnt know what harness you were using till now
obd1 has 2 plugs and obd 2 has one plug,if you harness is a obd1 harness and you use a obd2 distributor, all ya need to do is color match the wires to make the plug on the obd2 distributor have 2 plugs,as obd2 has one,am i makin sense yet,and same for using a obb2 harness just reverse what ive said..but if your parts are all obd1or are all obd2,its all plug and play.......,jdm motors and sensors, diffrent story
all honda distribotors are keyed to fit one way on the cam

ok well how bout this since i have the 00si harness 00 si dist. and 00 si wires but 94 gsr plugs am i good to go? cuz i get a knock code 23...timing might be off but woudl the plugs cause this they are brand new plugs
All you need to do is changes the plugs. We did this on my bro's ls/vtec. The 2-wire connector will interchange easily. But the pins for the other connector will extend about 1/8" longer and will not plug in all the way once you have them swaped. Theres no cutting or soldering involved.
make shur the knock sensor is plugged in,if you dont know were it is located, its a green single wire plug located on the block next to the alternator, also by the oil sensoron block, right above it under the intake manifold

knock sensor is new and in good and plugged in that thing has been in and out bout 5 times
reset ecu bout 800 times
do i need to change the plugs to 00 si? and what is the exact difference in them?

all honda "spark" plugs use a similiar part number if its a replacement, but if you co threw the diff temps, then they tend to vary, the knock sensor is detecting something ,in side the block, and or a malfunction, all it detects is vibrations in the block

yea i know thats what the knock sensor does but i think its knockin a bit maybe a cause of the plugs being for a 94 gsr instead of a 00 si
