Gap specs vary from piston to piston... Different alloys react different to heat which may require either tighter or looser tolerances...

Most forged pistons come with gap specs for each particular type of piston

As for rods, I believe Crower rods come with ARP rod bolts so Id recomend using those

thanks for replying. i realy am looking for new pistons and rings whats your price for forged pistons 11:1 or 11:3:1 comp. which would you recomand for 92 pump gas with no valve to piston clearence issues, no engine management needed. i want to past OBD2 smog test. i know it is always good to have one. i know you guys have good reputation for building engines. oh and this is for 98 GSR( b18c1) stock bore.

Without tuning I would say 11.3:1 is a good choice... Anything over that may require some tuning here and there...

Most pistons now adays have valve pockets the size of the grand canyon so you never really have piston to valve clearance issues unless you are going with something extreme like a 10cc dome or something like that...

Passing smog is never a guarantee, Ive seen some crazy motors pass smog but than again Ive seen some pretty mild motors get stamped as gross poluters... Its kinda hit or miss with that
