Default Would a fully built B20 12.1 comp. block not be able to work on a stock head w/ stock cams?

I have just purchased a fully built B20 bottom end that was previously B20/VTEC. Will my stock 98 USDM B20B4 head w/ stock cams be able to run on pump gas(93 octane)?? I heard this would not be a good combination and the car would need race gas??!!

Here's the block specs
fully build 98 B20B block
Golden Eagle 85mm sleeves
85mm Endyn Rollerwave 12.1 pistons
Endyn/Eagle Rods
ARP rod bolts
ARP headstuds
ITR water pump
Z10 block girdle
ACL bearings

I will do B20/VTEC later right now my $$ is short. And sorry for the repost I need these answers fast so I can either put this block in or sell it and get something else.

The overall cc count of Combustion chamber volume in your b20 head is alot higher than a B16/18C head... More cc's in the cumbustion chamber from one head to another = lower compression...

Just guessing with this one becasue I dont have the numbers in front of me but Id say your compression will be in the 11.2:1 range... (just a guess)

So yo answer your question, you should be fine...

The B20 and LS share the same head. The head and block are actually both the same. The B20 just has a larger bore and pistons.

Hope that helps because I still keep hearing different answers to my question.

Maybe, I can't ever be sure about anything these days. When it's done then I'll call it.
