dc2.....Smoking turn signals/ corner lenses.....
Well I'm pretty sick of the "jdm style" bumper lenses for my dc2.....

They got broken by a flying rock off someone's car on the hwy recently, and I think they're just not as durable as the stockers. That was my 2nd set, and I'm tired of them in general.
Seeing as how I have two sets of stock bumper lenses, and the fit + finish seems to be better than any aftermarket ones - but I don't like the amber color during the day. (At night, they're fine.) Has anyone smoked their stock amber bumper lenses somehow? I was thinking of buying the older 94-97 integra tails with the amber piece in them and smoking those too - to complete the look. Blackouts all around would be nice. AND I wouldn't have to buy amber bulbs to be DOT legal anymore - since they'd the amber part of the lens would tint the light like it does now (albeit maybe not as bright when tinted, but I'll risk it.).
BUT, what product do I use and how many coats etc?
I'd almost prefer some kind of film that I could apply to them - if it would be weatherproof and not peel.....
Anyone?

I did this, this weekend in fact.
I used my clear corners. Got some stuff called RC car window tint.
Just goto any hobby store and get a transparent black or a "window tint" for rc cars.
I did like 3/4 coats on each.

What is this? A spray or a film?

actually, the spray isnt that hard to take off.. chemicalviper sprayed his too dark and he lightened em with just a little bit of laquer thinner.. IMO the spray would look better than the film..

update:
I smoked my front turn signals/ bumper lenses two weeks ago with that Nite Shadez stuff. I used 5 coats to get them nice and dark like I wanted. I started to do some high heat clear on top, but it made them look grey/ white, and I didn't like it, so I just stripped the clear and left it just smoked. It turned out pretty good. 3 coats wasn't enough.
Next I want to smoke some 94-97 tails. I don't think I'll smoke the reverse lights portion though... But I will smoke that 3rd brake light as well.....
(sample pics of tails here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=757868)
