difference in PO6 and P28
i have been looking for a chipped p28 and have found a chipped PO6 and i am told that it sould be the same and the motherboard are the same, do you thinkg that $189 is a bad price for this ECU (the PO6)?
if you use the p28 with a dx engine, unless you have the spool valve wire and the oil switch hooked up to something, you will get a check engine light. plus, when the vtec crossover happens, you might get a hesitation due to no vtec lobes being there.
i was looking for a p28 and i came across a guy who told me that he would sell me a PO6. i was told that the po6 and p28 had the same motherboard and would work the same as the p28. all i was wondering was, the difference in the two, wich would be better for my set up ???
thanks for the input guys

FACTS:
p06 * has vtec * it opens up late, and the rev limit is about 6900
p28 basically the same ,except for the rev limit which is 7200
both tested on my obd1 gsr swap.
i have a p06 for sale $50 shipped. never opened

umm i didnt know an ecu made for a non vtec car would have vtec?
are you sure your not mistaken vtec for your secondaries opening up at around 5700? and the p06 shares the same mother board as the p28 and can be converted to a p28 by adding the vtec components to the board.

check my sig. $165US shipped gets you a chipped P28 or JDm P08 or converted P06 to vtec, your choice.
P06 does indeed have the same board as P61/P30/P28/P05 and PR4 (92-3), yes they can be made to run vtec, with few hardware parts added on as well as 'vtec enabling' ROM, it can run all 92-5 sohc/dohc vtec programs including the P72 (once knoc is disabled)
now as far as P06 it is in its basic a non-vtec ecu and it does not activate vtec, its disabled, but it does have provisions in its actual software to become just like its bigger brother P28 (of course once hardware is added on)
