Default 5th gen Turbo or JRSC?

-Money is indeed an issue although not a huge one.
-Want to buy minimal "you really should get this too" parts.
-Daily driver.
-Will not run 1/4 mile.
-Want long-term reliability and engine life (2 years).
-Highest HP/$ ratio

I'm more of a 4gen pro, but seems to me theres plus & negs about both.
Turbo you need to get alot of stuff to make sure its running optimal (ex. Strengthen Bottom-end,Turbo Timer, Head Gasket,)
JRSC you can slap on, power isnt awesome but its right up your alley, Daily Driver, doesnt wreak havoc on your engine..
and not alot of crap to do to get your engine ready for it, oh and longevity.

You can run a turbo on a stock bottom end no problem.

Turbo timer...woohoo now that is a big deciding factor on whether or not a turbo is worth having.

You don't need a different head gasket for a turboed engine.

I would venture to say a JRSC is harder on a motor internally than a turbo setup. Because of lack of an intercooler, the intake charge is MUCH higher, increasing detonation.

Sure, you'll want a different headgasket or different cylinders - if you wanna try and lower the compression..
oh & 'Inlinefour' you come off like an ******* bro.

different headgasket or different cylinders? I'm guessing you mean pistons. Well, you don't need either. The headgasket is only really needed for higher-than-normal boost levels. I have the headgasket, but will be removing it as soon as I get the chance.

Turbotimers are just a waste, IMO. I have a blitz dual that has never been used once(4/s) Waiting a few mins is ok with me!

swapping pistons ends up being a bottom-end rebuild. I understand people think that pistons of the same size bore will drop in, but until someone proves it, i'm sticking with my stock block or built block; nothing in between.

If you're not going to run it forget about it leave it stock. I'll be the best thing you'll be glad you've done. TRRRRUUUSSTTT Me
