Default brake problem

Rotated my tires today and noticed that what I think is the heatshield behind my rotors (could be wrong. It was the thin metal piece directly behind the rotors) was bent to ****! My car does have a little bit of wobble to it when i step on the brakes, but I figured it was from the rotors. The only thing I can think of is that when stepping on my brakes and my rotors being warped, it may have bent that piece back, but not this bad. Any comments? Thanks in advance. (I'll try to get pictures of it if I get a chance.)

whoever did your brakes last time probably bent it back for ease of instalation...that piece is just there to keep brake dust from getting into your bearings, balljoints, shocks etc....but your rotors may be warped...don't make the mistake of getting them turned...go ahead and get new ones along with pads as well!

nothing to worry about the shield was actually designed for airflow and other purpose but im familiar with it being for airflow so that your rotors gets some air to it this info was brought to you by.... "my auto tune up and emissions controler instructor". oh yea and another info just FYI ever sinc ei put my mugen replica front bumper (fiberglass) it extended the stock bumper so the air flow is now different and now when i apply the brakes i know that it gets real hot and i have a hard time breaking it slides so i need to find a better way of cooling my rotors... the rotors and brakes are new too im either going to upgrade or get some bendable tubing big enough and yatta yatta yatta sorry for jacking your thread

I'll be buying new BREMBO rotors real soon. Anybody have suggestions on whether to buy drilled, slotted, or drilled and slotted? I've heard that slotted tears up your brake pads. Anybody have recommendations on good brake pads...AEM, etc.? Thanks again guys...these are great answers.

theres a brake pad called green stuff expensive it works and it leaves close to no debree so your rims dont come out black and as for the rotors blanks should be fine for daily driven cross drilled is for racers but its known to crack and slotted is fine too i would go for the slotted people say that theres no difference between the blanks and the slotted but i think you get wha tyou pay for

I'll probably be getting slotted brembo rotors then. I've found them on ebay for pretty cheap brand new. Thanks again for the great answers.

When you changed the rotors and pads, did you changed the fluid? If not, try that. The fluid plays a big part, bigger than most people would think.

Any idea where to get the Green stuff brake pads, or does anyone else have recommendations on pads that significantly reduce brake dust?
