Default need help with vtec....(not a how to)

I have a problem with my top end. For some reasons, when i slowly rev up to redline, my vtec feels like it cuts off around 6800-7000 rpm. But if i just punch the gas down and rev to redline there isn't any cuts off. I have no idea what's wrong so please help...thanks....

what are you doing revving to 7,000 on partial throttle anyways? that will lead to a lean condition and probably detonation.

so, no one can help me? I seriously dont know what's causing the vtec to cuts off. I mean there's no sign of any problem, like check engine light, temp., etc.

itsn't vtec only activated on WOT? if thats true then if your a partial throttle it wouldn't be activated.

nope VTEC should be one as long as your moving and its at the right RPMs.. it could be a bad VTEC solnoid or low oil.. if everything is not in the right conditions the ECU will not let VTEC engage or cut it off.. first thing i'd do is hook up some kinda test light.. just to see if VTEC really is cutting off.. or your not just leaning out or something. IT could be something like clogged injectors.. its hard to tell.. first things first check to make sure what ur saying is accurate

correct me if i'm wrong, but vtec activates based on a few things such as oil pressure, rpm, engine load, speed, so if you aren't meeting all those conditions when your just hanging out around 7000 you might not be in vtec. so basically don't pay 7k a visit unless your at WOT
