Anyone use theirs at least 2x per day and still nto have it break down yet? Wondering how reliable a 00 model would be if the owner used it everyday, the power top that is.

 

I don't believe that I've heard of a motor failure yet in any MY car. You do need to a take a close look for wear holes in the B pillar areas though.

 

My top lasted 2 years before someone slashed it..........

 

I also don't believe I've ever heard of the power top not functioning due to too much use/old age.

The worst thing I've heard was the top not going down all the way, and even that is a TSB that can be fixed by the dealer.

Mine is going strong from 2001 after many many uses.

4 years and still working fine. The convertable top has four motors, even if one failed the top would still actuate. I am pretty confident the vinyl top will wear out long before the motors will die. That said, it would be more expensive to replace the vinyl top than a dinky electric motor.
