english please.

No it won't be slower dude. You shouldn't be in boost for more than 20 seconds anyway. Any longer and you risk melting the pistons. Ask people about there highway races and they 5th gear runs.

Lol sorrie about that. Well i mean first i heard you cant boost 5th. And other people have told me that you could be slower ALL AROUND. I mean with a Ls tranny i think i would be slower. But i dont know about a si. So far its better acceleration off the line? Is that right? And how bout through the other gears. Maybe someone can help me on that.

my friend's ITR tranny (essentially same gears as b16) goes to 7000rpm at 130mph

If you plan on traping more than 130mph when dragging, then get a different tranny, but i doubt you will, so the b16 will be working to your advantage.

Shorter Gears (Taller Numerically) accelerate faster, period...

Why do people try to argue this? You will loose top end, but your accleration to given mph will be faster, period. End of story...Highway Racing is :greddy: anyways.

dude this is getting a little rediculous. WTF is your question already? Shorter gears = faster accelaration and lower top speed
longer gears = slower accelaration and higher top speed

what's the rocketry here and WTF do you want to know already.

They are GEARS, you can't have the best of both worlds. And how often are you going to need to go above 130 as it is?

what i told you in my first post is correct, ignore all the other comments that say otherwise. You cant increase your top speed, you will still be able to go fast enough to kill yourself. Is that what you wanted to know?

Will raising the rev limit allow for more MPH? That would be the only other option I can think of...

thanks rjardy thats what i wanted to know. Um i heard boosting in 5th gear is not to safe. And other post, my bro has no rev limiter on his ecu. But i think it would be to much on my valvetrain and so forth, ill just keep it safe at 8200 0_o

then it's settled.

b16 tranny will top out at 8200 at about 140, LS would top out at roughly 165

what do you want? fast quarter mile or high speed freeway racing?

to compensate for the shorter gears of the B16 tranny, you'll have to run bigger rims/tires to go faster(higher mph)
