I did a search and read up on the block girdle debate.
B18C's have them because the engines geometry isn't perfect.
B20's don't have them because they have a low redline and the engine is built weel for that.
Using a Dart 2.0L block, would a girdle be required with a 9,000 redline? Supposedly the Dart blocks are 4x stronger than stock blocks, so does anyone want to put their opinion on this in (only on Dart B20 girdle, not the whole girdle debate)?

I dont think the block has anything to do with the 9000 rpm redline. Sure it would be better. I think the block girdle just keeps things secure and under control under high revving along with alot of other things to let it rev that high. And i would highly reccomend a block girdle for the b20. And the reason the b18c's have them is because honda wanted them to be 110% kick *** instead of 100%.
The webbing on the Dart block is much thicker than stock. It is also very noticable when you tq any of the bolt/mains/studs that the aluminum gives much less than a honda block.

Yea! I was hoping someone with a Dart block would reply. I'd ask you if you used a girdle but I'll just go look at your threads.
Anyone else?
