Default Smaller radiator for turbo space?

HI i am turboing a da6 integra
they have a large radiator in the front and i have seen that vtec civics have a smaller radiator.

so i do not have to cut into the side of my car for pipes, can i run a smaller civic radiator to give me all that space for IC piping or will this make the car overheat
after all the cars run the same engines b16a2's so why is my one bigger?

im not sure if the body of that code, but i do know that DC integra's can run EK civic radiators and EK civic can run DC radiator.

not sure if you swap mouting hardware also but i think you do...

hopefully this helps

I don't know how much space you have in front of your radiator on your car, but You might possibly be able to get a slim-fan from pep boys and install it in front of your radiator and remove your stock radiator fan.

Its what I did to increase space in that area on my civic, i just took out the condenser fan, and re-located a slim fan in front of it.

the civic style radiator is fine, mounting is a different subject.

how many civics do you see running around with gsr swaps and such with thier style radiator...alot, so it can be done. You mind as well get an aftermarket radiator whille your swapping it out.

itll cool the engine adequately enough(mine did fine on my 12 psi H22), but your problem will be mounting. If you can make a few brackets, it can easily be done. If you are scared of some brackets, than might want to look into something else...

Yes the integras have a larger radiator, but civics that swap a gsr motor in cool fine wiht their stock radiator.

i had a drag 3 kit on my 92 integra and i put a half size fluidyne in there for more room. The car would absolutely not stay cool. Maybe my fan wasnt adequate though cause many people have used this same radiator with good results.

Im redoing my car currently and im planning on using a full radiator again. CHRIS

yes i bled the system. that was not the problem. I am guessing the problem was that my fan wasnt pulling enough cfm/. All i know is that soon as i switched to the full size the car didnt even turn the fans on unless i was in traffic. it worked very well. CHRIS

I had the same setup on my DA, a Del Sol vtec radiator. I had it rigged ghetto style though. I was holding the top part down with a wire and the bottom had one leg in the passenger side bracket and the other leg in the air. The problem is that you'll have to fabricate your own mounting brackets. The big fat crossmember also doesn't give you much room. You wont have a cooling problem it's just that it's not exactly a bolt-on affair. As far as my piping, I removed the driver side tow hitch and snacked the tubing through that small crack. DA's have no room whatsoever. My advice is to buy an aftermarket crossmember. It will give you more room to work with. I think Place Racing makes one for DA's.

not good for me cause i will scrape em

can someone show me pics of there G2 turbo setup up close how the rigged the pipes up

You have the right idea going for the routing of the IC piping on the passenger side. Your options on the drivers side are soley dependent on how many creature comforts you are willing to sacrifice. Here are a few pics of a couple of different configurations that I have done.

I no longer have power steering so the soda can plays the role of the breather/reservoir.

Just take out your power rack and put a manual rack in, then you won't even have to deal with that at all, and you'll be lighter anyway!

yep.....and the steering ratio is worse. trust me, i put in a manual rack.....and i'm putting the p/s rack back in with the breather setup.

ding ding ding

Besides, this was a much easier solution then swapping the enitre rack.
