Default Whats wrong with my motor..

Heres the deal.. I have a 89' crx dx and I put a 93' dx civic motor into it.. I converted it over to mpfi and also put a B series throttlebody on it, also have an aeromotive fpr on it.. It wont start.. As im cranking it, it will fire everynow and then but not start kinda like one cylinder is either sparking or injector is firing there once in a while.. Any ideas on this.. I know this is kinda a wide range a problems it could be with the info I supplied but just wanted to know if anyone has gotten this problem..

Dont forget I converted it over to mpfi so im guessing the problem could be anything from spark to injectors, I did notice that when I turn down the fuel pressure it sounded like it wanted to start alot more.. Hmmmm... Any help here..

Are spark plug wires in the proper firing order? Have you checked for spark? If both of those are correct try spraying a little carb cleaner into the TB while cranking, does it act like it wants to fire? Then its probable fuel related.

I have spark.. I tried to spray a little starting fluid into there and it really acts like it wants to start.. Would it be that I am using a resistor box on my car now and I have 10.5 ohm injectors in there..

Try switching to the peak and hold injectors. I don't know if it will make a difference, but it's worth a shot. Also, like mentioned earlier, check to make sure that your timing isn't off. You may also want to do a compression test too.

Maybe this will help explain also.. When im cranking it turns over and stops like the timing is way off and then start cranking again.. It also backfires when it stops.. I know the plug wires are correct.. Is it possible to put the dizzy on 180 degrees out or does it only go 1 way..

Well I kinda got some nice injectors from a dsm in the junkyard and I want to use them.. Even though they came off of a dsm they show 10.5 ohms accross the terminals.. They are accel injectors I think.. With that resistance would I just go around the resistor box then..

Do you want your car to run?

Get you car running first...then you can F with it..

Take out anything that may not let the car start..

Are all your grounds connected?

that is an ignition timing issue, plug wires are on the cap wrong, in the head wrong, cam timing is off, or dist is fubar

What distributor are you trying to use? OBD1 distributors aren't compatible with OBD0 ecus. If it is only in sink 1out of every three revolutions Cyl sensor 24 paddles instead of 16 on OBD0 then things aren't going to work. Sounds to me like you are trying to use the 93 distributor with your Pm6 ecu. You will need an SI/EX/HF/Wagovan4wd distributor from an OBD0 car.

when it fires the car stops cranking? i had the same problem and my firing order was off. put the motor to TDC(i assume you know how) and take off the distributor cap. look at the rotor to see which way it is facing then start your firing order from there.
