Default ***Door Dings*** anybody ever tried paintless dent removal?

I'm just curious in who has tried this method of getting rid of door dings? Either you did it yourself or had a shop do this, let me know on the outcome. If also anybody in the bay area (CA) knows of a good shop to do this, some info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick

it all depends on the severity of the ding.

if it was bad enuf to stretch the metal, then they cant get it back 100%, maybe like 70% or so.

i had some done, by some guy, he is a mobile pdr guy, he came out and poped out small dent on my fender, it was like it was never there.

but he tried getting some more major dents out on my door and could only get them out like 70-80%, you can see the ripple in the reflection, but you cant really feel it if you run your hand over it.

cost me 200bux.. but I could tell I coulda haggled him down.. I just didnt cuz i'm no good at that ****!! haha, doh!

it is the sh*t, it works great on dings and most dents, but it does not work on parts with bondo and it only works if the area is accesable from the rear. such as the door dings they can remove the door panel. if the guy does it right it looks perfect. if anyone in los angeles area/orange county area need paintless dent removal i have a great guy that does it and i highly recomoned him.

in short its good if the guy knows what hes doing

I had it done to my black 00 hatch. You could never tell there were dents there. I paid about $240 to get all the dings out of the car. I went to Dent Wizard.

I had PDR done to my old civic that was involved in a 1 in 100 year hailstorm. It was really bad, a few blocks from me had one foot of hail on the ground, and alot of it was the size of golf *****....

...you can imagine what my car looked like.

Anyway, I had some pro dent removers take care of the dents. There whole job was to go to places where there were severe hail storms.

In about an hour my car looked better then before...they took out any door dings that I had too.

I got the hookup price too....$600

OK now that PDR is highly recommended. Anybody live in the CA bay area know of any one who does this? $200-$300 range for removing dents is better than getting a $300 dollar half *** paint job imo.

I took my car to Dent Wizard in Torrance, CA 3 years ago and they did an excellent job of removing the dings. I have since accumulated more door dings and will be going back. Dent Wizard locations are everywhere, including the Bay Area. Check their website:

http://dentwiz.com/usaindex.html

to learn more about paintless dent removal and to find a Dent Wizard location near you.

I had "Dent Time" do the repair at a car show recently, in San Diego, Ca. They removed a bunch of dents for under a 100 bucks on my black Del Sol. Turned out really great !

Check to see if there is a dent wizard in your area. They usually charge a flat rate per panel. So if you have 2 or 20 dents in a panel, same price.

I used a paintless dent remover guy local to me here in PA. My car got killed with dents when a hail storm came through and I was at work. I had over 100 dents on on the hood, roof and trunk. I took it to this guy in the morning thinking it would take him almost all day to do. 2 hours later he called and is like all done. I was like yeah right he had to miss some. Sure enough I go and pick up the car and every dent is gone. The guy did a great job. HE was showing me the tools he uses. Most of them are just thin metal rods that he bends to get into where the dents are. I think the job will depend on how good the guy doing it is. Hope that helps

I wish I had before and after photos, but I tried a PDR service and the results were excellent. I had a big dent on my passenger side fender from some dude who accidentally rammed a table end into while moving. Looked horrible. PDR guy came by and fixed in 20 minutes.
