a turbo H22 Accord is not practical. it is not something i would count on for daily driving...once you turbo a honda you throw away it's great reliability.
is that only for h22s or all or most hondas?.........this is the first time i heard this

He's just making a general statement. If you tried to build up a NA H22A without being smart, you'd throw away it's reliability as well.

he's saying it in a general sense, a turbo honda wont be as reliable as a n/a motor, which is true. it doesnt mean you can't count on it to get you to the store if you tune it right, but you're not gonna get 200k miles out of it like you would on most other honda engines.

hell even DSMs are reliable when you mod them. anything with some medium to major work looses its reliability but thats what we sacrafice for fun.

a dsm is already turbo though which makes things much easier, cheaper, and safer. a 16G turbo, a boost controller, and some tuning can get you alot and be just as reliable as a stock dsm. the same cannot be said about turboing an honda. you will spend about $10K or more to turbo a H22 accord, for what?? so you can run 13s and you still may not have a car that you can commute everyday in. a much better investment is wrx, cause i can haul the family and run mid to low 14s stock and count on the car to last me a long time. then with a little bit of money 13s aren't too far away and the car is still going to be reliable.

you see Hondas have issues with expensive parts for any type of aftermarket improvements, but DSM's require a 2600 series pressure plate in order to do anything really. AWD DSM's get 5 launches out of a stock clutch and PP then they are toast. You spend more in fixing a DSM tranny then anything so we Honda folk shouldnt complain too much, we just have to work harder to be faster.

hard AWD launches can toast any tranny. i have heard of some issues with dsm trannies i know my friend blew his tranny in his GST shorty after installing a centerforce clutch, but i see so many 12s AWD DSMs at the track i don't think it's that big of deal.

DSM's are cheap fast cars it is true, if worked on and seen as many as i want to see. your buddies clutch may have toasted due tot eh centerforce becaue i have heard multiple problems with that company and DSM's. Hondas are just the moer difficult way to go, how i like it.
