tranny issues
a few months back i blew out my clutch replaced it and i lost 4th and reverse....drove on it for a while and it finally took a **** on me
got a 99si trans...swapped it in and now the shifter is cocked way to the left and even when i do get it into gear it doesnt move and it makes a whirring sound from the bell housing....anyone know what the problem might be? ive been out of a car for to long.....any help would be greatly apprecaited

Just make sure that the linkages are hooked up correctly under the car and the shifter is bolted in correctly. If those are proper, then it will be a problem with the transmission.
the shifter is the only one that was dropped so i think it went right back on straight....whats really killing me is the whirring noise in the tranny and why it isnt engaging

bought it from a guy my friend knows....pulled from a 99 si that was flipped....
i would expect something from it though even if it was dead....room-mate said the whirring is coming from the bell-housing....

I'd take it back and get a refund.

yeah well, if the installation is correct, then common sense would tell you it's in the tranny.
