Would a restrictive muffler make gas milage go down?
Would a muffler that is more restrictive than the stock muffler make the gas mileage go down? Asking for a friend that tried to put one of those stupid muffler tips on a muffler and the tip looks too small or something. He's a ricer but he's my roomate so I have to look out...
It very well could. Ruining exhaust velocity and scavenging efficiency both reduces performance and hurts gas mileage.
Yea, I was just wondering too cause I thought that puting on a restrictive exhaust would just hurt performance but I didn't know that the gas milage could go down too.
I guess the silence means the answer is yes, a restrictive muffler will decrease gas milage?
Never mind. This post was very helpful: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=367124
