what bearings? (did search)
which rod bearings am I suspposed to use with my b16a. I ordered 99si bearings and they are narrower than the journal so im wondering if anyone else just used the narrow bearings or used from a diff make of car.
those bearings for a 99 SI should work perfectly.
maybe somehow you got the wrong bearings from the dealership or whereever you got them from. i have gotten all of my bearings from Acura for my DOHC VTEC block buildups--B16A, B17A, B18C. all the same.
they also are color coded, which i'm sure you already know. so ordering the correct color bearins for each journal is important. you can just order the same bearings that the crank/rod dictates by code, or you can guage each journal with new, different color bearings to see what color should be there for the proper clearance.
hope this helps some.

yea i use a factory dealership honda manual best tool i ever bought, anyways i did a part number check and they are incorrect which would explain alot, thanks for the help though
my machine shop said they have to recondition my rods, and to go with acl's, cuz they know they will work...is there an oem equivelant size to acl rod bearings??
from what ive heard acls are one size fits all sorta thing, they almost always are within spec of honda bearings, honda just uses colors blue being the biggest i think and red being the smallest or somewhere along those lines, dont have the manual in front of me to verify, acls are good bearings from what i hear so you should be fine as long as the machine shop is a repuatable one, and even then remeber everyone makes mistakes, its what they do to correct it that makes it a good shop or not
from what i know (though i haven't used ACL bearings myself) the ACL's are a 'one size fits all' sort of thing. i believe they are basically 'Green' in size, which is in the middle of the Honda charts. so it should be within spec, but could be on the loose or tight side depending on what color bearing was there from the factory or depending on what components are being used and the purpose of the motor etc.
