Pivot Tacho accuracy problem
i just got a pivot tach for my 98 hatch. i have a D16Y7 and i know the redline is 6800 and the fuel cut off is 7000. i have noticed that on my Si cluster that all seems to be accurate, but when i look at Pivot Tacho is usually about 200rpm lower than what it really is.. the fuel cut off is at an indicate 6800rpm on the Pivot tach. i dont have an ignition system in to which to hook up the signal wire to a coil but i do have the signal wire hooked up to the wire that comes from the coil to the ECU under the dash. btw the wire is not the blue on but like green/yellow. there is no difference if i hook it up to the blue wire behind the guage cluster or to the wire i have just spoke of a couple sentences back. thanks in advance.. just to let you guys know i did search but all i came up with was people selling Pivot products..
Your stock tach is going to be about 200 rpm off (or that is what mine is at least). I have some OBDII checking software where I can go in and check out what the car is seeing at every sensor, and my tach is about 200 rpms higher than what the car is really seeing.
i could understand that but where the fuel cutoff is that is what is indicated on the Si cluster. i know its not good to hit the fuel cutoff but i really dont care cause there is a swap coming soon..
