Default p+p and milling questions...

i don't know much about headwork, but i plan on having some of it done, and with that said, i have a few questions. as far as port+polish goes, what is extreme and what is mild? and i know polishing helps flow more freely, but does it really make that much of a difference? also milling, what is a lot and what is a little?

let's see, first extreme would be more benefical in a race setup and not in a daily driver setup. mild P&P is better for daily driver since all you're really doing is cleaning up and removing a little bit of rough surface in the ports of the head. for milling I wouldn't recomend milling the head more then the maximun factory specs since it seriously affect your timing. Once again that applies to a daily driver. for race setup that's another story. port and polishing is good for the head as long as you add other parts to go with the head ie...higher or lower compression piston, turbo, all motor setup, cams,etc...
