Default D16A6 gives up the ghost (finally)

Well the day had come it seems. I was expecting it for quiet some time, but it didn't happen as i thought it would, no spun bearings or a blown gasket, no bent valves from overreving.
it was the damn timing belt, at 1am, in the middle of the road. that engine endured no oil change for over a year even though it burnt about a quart per 200 miles, it endured overheated and under watered conditions for about the same time, my radiator was pretty much empty, as my overflow tank was missing. it still barked in second gear and bounced off the rev limiter every gear, until i removed it. i beat that engine to death, and still it only gave out from a maintainace ailment. i suppose it is time for the assembly of the new one.
the D16A6 is dead, long live the D16A6.

why didn't you change the oil? you just wanted to abuse the **** out of it? i guess if thats what makes your day better, right on.

Experimenting on how long till it dies? Sounds like a good idea if you have another waiting to go in.

had about 200K, i have no idea how many on the belt itself.
i failed to see the point to change the oil since the engine burnt most of it in the first 200 miles. no abuse for kicks, i wanted to see what would be the weakest point in a poorly maintained D16A6. i guess nothing, aside from a flapping timing belt...
i will have to get the new engine up and running in about a week.
i'll keep you posted.
here is the old info, i have all the components now. trakmasters in valencia will do the machine work.

does this mean that you can sell parts off the d16a6 now?? If so, I'm interested in the intake manifold, throttle body and distributor
or are you planning on keeping these parts for the other d16?
