DX guys with aftermarket header and exhaust
Okay guys, have a turbo on the car and an exhaust. Of course on an EK the cat is integrated into the stock exhaust manifold. Is there any stock cat I can bolt onto the car or what aftermarket cat will bolt up?? I have a 2 bolt flange on the downpipe and a 2 bolt flange on my Apex'i Dunk exhaust. Thanks!
I've got a "straight pipe" on it now that came with my exhaust. I would like to get a direct bolt on because none of the shops in my area can weld worth a damn though. Anybody in the same boat and found out what would work?? The EX cats are a 2 bolt flange or a 3 bolt flange?? I got a teg one for free from a friend, but it's a 3 bolt.
from what I know all EK hatch exhuasts extent all the way to the header.......and if your down pipe is made for EX it will line up right to the exhuast....the only way around this is cut your cat back and move the flange back so that you have the space for the cat to bolt up too......
all Civic cats are 3 bolt to the exhuast and 2 bolt flange to the header...
I had the same problem on my vx, but since the EG hatch comes in a different trim I was able to use a Si hatch exhuast and Si/Ex Header and it left the space I needed to bolt up a cat......

EX catalytic converter.
90% sure it 2 bolt on both sides.
EDIT: 10% wins I was wrong.

Alrighty.....get a $50 carsound cat from E-bay, take the car and cat to a muffler shop and have the flanges cut off of the test pipe and then weld them to the cat.

RSZero1 has bought from this guy without any problems and good tech support.....guy threw in an extra O2 bung for nothing or little money.

I already have the exhaust on the car. It is an Apex'i Dunk and there is a small length of pipe that bolts off (before the actual B pipe) that I can replace with the cat. But you are right, the EK hatch exhaust goes all the way up to the header, or in my case downpipe.
EDIT: Thanks Spade!!
