Default Had this problem yet with Skunk2 Shortshifter?

I recently put on a Skunk 2 shortshifter about 2months ago and loved the feel of it, but just a few days ago, something terrble happened. I had just done some 1/4 racing for the first time in my car at MIssion raceway up in Canada(I live in Washington) and i did some pathethic times in my hybrid civic, (15.1 and 15.2, I have terrible R/T times, 1.200 and 1.009) but everything was cool till ti started driving home...first i noticed a buzzing sound that I never heard before, so me and my motorcycle buddy pulled over and gave my car the once over in the rain( that's why i only did 2 runs, it started raining at the track.) we couldn't find anything wrong so i drove across the border and back into the states. The next day I was driving and suddenly i shift normally into 3 rd gear ...and wham..no more tight shifting pattern in my car, it suddenly got awfully sloppy....i came to the instant conclusion that the shifter bolt backed off my car and only a bolt was holding it, no nut...but by the time i made it home, i had lost all shifting capability and was stuck in 4th gear..any one else ever had this problem?

Sounds like the installer didn't tighten it down properly. My buddy has one in his GSR Hybrid and swears by it. He got his from Skunk2 as a DEMO model (before they were released to the public) so he's had it for about a year or so.

Personally, I like my neuspeed shifter. But that's just me. I'd rather save some $$ over the C's overpriced unit.

Well, I do all the work to my car myself, so have no one to blame but me. I did fix it though, made a quick trip to Ace hardware, got a stainless steel bolt, a nylon lock nut and some heavy duty loc-tite...it all cost 5 buks, the loc-tite being 4 bucks. now my shifter is finally back to normal...thanks to ace hardware...

Hey B18c-EJ1, just got a question for you, where is this NRG racing shop? I would lik to visit it and check it out..thanks!
