my friend says its not really worth it, which is sorta true because its like 20 hp gain, and its like 1000 dollars more, i just want to know what other people think and then maybe i can go by that

$1000 for 20 (actually 30) more factory-reliable horsepower is not that bad at all.

the type r will beat the b16a2 in just a bout any aspect. think of it this way even shelling out the extra $1000 into a b16a2, you still probably not be able to beat the type r.

A type-r is an all around stronger engine. It's deffinately worth the extra cash, if you can scrounge it up. Also, your on HT now, we usually refer to "Jspec" as JDM.

In my opinion paying the $1000 more for having the JDM ITR motor is a way better deal. You'll rev higher (still within factory specs) and you'll have an all around faster motor. And it is so true...adding $1000 in mods to a B16A2 will get you nowhere near ITR power. One thing you should think of: JDM motors usually aren't SMOG legal, at least not here is Ca...course you could always pay a guy $200 to get you a SMOG cert...
