What's the difference from a Type-S motor compared to a JDM H22A?

It's all to indirect. Is it worth trying to make my SH to a Type-S?

Most people i've talked to have said that paying 5g's for an extra 20 ponies or however much you get isn't worth it, but the type s is definitely badass, for 5g's though you could easily make around 250 whp with your current h22

Heres the thing, if you plan on going after some real numbers, in upwards of 220, then you will have to un type s the motor. In other words, new cams, new valvetrain, and in all probability new pistons, rods, and anything else you can think of that makes a type s a type s. If you want to stick with OEM parts, and arent chasing the big HP addiction, then sure have a go.

Thanks, I like the OEM stuff. A turbo is a maybe but not for a while. Now let me ask another question, I bought the Lude with the H22A already installed, now how do I know if the ATTS is still working with this motor?

Easiest way to see if you have ATTS is to look for the oil filter. If you have one it should be in the back of the motor. If you have access to the block, you can see if it has "P5P" stamped onto the block.

In the U.S., all the 97+ preludes came standard with the h22a.

If you have the SH then you have the ATTS. That was the main difference between the 97+ base and the sh preludes. If there is somethin wrong with your ATTS then a light on your gauges should appear.
