Comptech is VERY VERY good....the J's with a cold air duct and a better filter than the POS most of them come with though I think is better...

Both are very good intakes. For overall drivability, I recommend the comptech with stock arm

J's in CF for that show car look.

How would a J's compare to a stock box w/ a K&N?

Stock box w/ k&n makes no power over stock box w/ stock filter.

What problems are you running into when choosing one or the other?

From what I understand the Ice box is the next best thing to Mugen.

*bump* more thoughts? I'm also divided, but Daaamn buying the Icebox and then the intake arm + filter adds up to a nice amount of cash for 1-3 hp don't you think...??? that's whats stopped me so far

I remember a dyno plot a few years ago where the stock intake with a K&N make only 1whp less than a AEM.

My stock box and K&N made 1 whp more than Stock filter. AEM made 4 whp more than stock. Removing the resonator on a stock box lost 3-6 whp.
