Ok, this one dude is selling a b16a2 for his friend. His car was wrecked so they pulled out the engine. They have no paper work or anything to confirm it as a legit motor. Would any of you buy it? They want $1800 for it (complete). What would they need to do to get paper work on it, because I don't want a motor with no paper work and get screwed over as a stolen motor.

 

1800 seems alittle high?

 

Well, I emailed them offering $1500 but what price do you guys think it should go for?

 

Think you can call Honda...and they can run the block number.

 

Is that some kind of security, running block numbers? If motor is clean then it's ok to buy?

Yes. They can run those numbers along with the VIN's all over everything and see if its stolen.

 

Hot b16 motors = 1,200-1,400
Hot Gsr motors = 1,500-2,000

Thats about the hot price i can get motors for...

well if its not legit..most likely the vin is gone and prob. the block number and code too...check for those...i dont think anyone would run a stolen motor w. the vin and everything in it..just a though..check it out..

Im just trying to help out the guy....if he was to get a hot motor...my advice would help him on how to prevent him from being screwed in the future... gg
