ok, it sounds like a wee-todd question, but i hear newspaper does a great job of cleaning the windshield, but how to do it?

do you:
1) apply glass cleaner and wipe clean with newspaper, or
2) apply glass cleaner, wipe clean with paper towels, and rub dry glass with newspaper

won't this leave ink on the glass???

 

Found this on an auto detailing website:

"Many professional detailers use plain water for wiping and cleaning the windows and dry the glass with newspaper. Unlike paper towels and most cotton towels, newspaper does not leave behind lint and the ink acts as a glass polish. The only draw back to this method is the newsprint ink on your hands when you’re done. "

 

jsut do the same thing u usually do with papertowels but use newspaper instead of the paper towel.

 

I actually did clean up with newspaper long time ago, and it works pretty good.

Just use a papertowel and clean up with a dry towel that you would use to dry our car/windows, ya damned ricer.

 

wonder if the ink from the newspaper would have any adverse effect with Rainx

Just use the god sent Rain-X afterwards

Spit works great for anti-fog, just like the ocean divers put in their mask.

 

Ive been using this method forever....It works great you just have to know when to throw the newspaper away and use different one. If you use it too long it will start to get a bit messy. The ink.........dont worrry about it. The rainx...........never tried it with rain x. Dont Know???????

i generally use the rainx windshield wiper fluid. it's upsetting when the fluid gets on the paint which i spend 5 hours every weekend to wash/claybar/polish/wax, but i get over it with the ease of application.
