Default Built LS or B18c5

I have 5 grand and want to build a rex, I was thinking of dropping a GSR in a hf, but I came across a crx on autotrader for $2,200 with a LS in it. A type R head and APEXi turbo would fit nicely, eh eh? What do you think I should do?

LS turbo is great torque monster.

So is c5 all motor vtec in a HF that would be a mighty car.

The choice is yours!!!
both are great motors LS will pull about up to 7000RPM the type R will make power after vtec until redline.

Hey thanks, but do you think its ***** to buy a already built car? If i buy that LS I could make it fast fast. And I dont have to swap an engine and tranny, which is time i dont have. (To lazy)

Owe-BTW- how do you become a member, I cant post in clasifides and a few other threads.

just buy an ls... and totally re build it.. .then turbo and you'll save yourself money and get alittle less power

B18c5 is not a normal engine?

I would get a b18c5 and leave it alone, you will run 13 easily with a c5 in a rex.

i don't consider the b18c5 a normal motor.. GSR is not worth it in an EF

GSR+ h22 are just retarded in EFs.... you get uber fast and all but it's a waste of money. GSRs are expensive in canada! freaking 3500 for 1!

BTW the c5 is the TYPE R.. the C or C1 is the GSR please learn your engine codes

mass produced engines are normal engines! ie, LS, Dseries etc etc... there are like 10 LS to every 1 GSR

Why not? Because EFs are lighter and don't 'need' the power? As far as I am concerned, this is every reason to go ahead and do a B18C swap in an EF.

dude, change ur stock cams. throw in some crower 403's or 404's and u will make power up to and over 8000rpm which is amazing for a non-vtec, but vtec is still king. i 2nd the LS/Turbo, gobs of torque and hp, with minimal $$.
