Need help with broken bolt head
I have a 92 civic and I'm trying to install coilovers on. I have the front on with no problems, however the rear didn't go as well. I thought the bolt was coming loose so I gave it a little more and snap!! the head of the bolt from the strut holding it to the control arm snaps off. So, fine, then I try the other side and snap again. So now I have both rear bolts with the heads missing. What do I do?? I don't want to drive around with this, I don't feel safe. I was gonna drill them out but heard that was gonna take forever and good luck. friends suggested to get ne control arms. HELP!!!!
If you can cut the threaded portion of the bolt, you can then drop out the LCA. Once the LCA is out, you can
a) drill out the old bolt and put a bew bolt in the old bushing. Cost $
b) have a new bushing pressed into the LCA (the local Honda dealer did it for my friend). Cost $$
c) buy an entire LCA. Cost $$$
I would NOT drive around with the car like that.
