My Compression test numbers. good?
I had a compression check done today on my 97 LS motor with 90k miles, im putting a turbo on and wanted to chek engine condition. I hear these numbers are pretty good. what do u think? I know them all being equal is very good, is 165psi good for a LS motor though? This was done at a honda specialty shop, I didnt trust myself to do it right

They look very good indeed... What is the compression output for a new engine for your model year?? This would offer more insight to the overall health of the engine.
My 1990 LS came out at 190 psi in all 4 cylinders with 154k miles. Your compression numbers sound just fine to me. Its all dependent on the compression tester as well as your elevation. When you test your motor the big thing that you are looking for is your numbers do not vary too much between all the cylinders. And the numbers that you have are well within acceptable range. Your motor sounds to me like its perfectly healthy.

after 15k of boost on my LS (~95k on the ticker now) i still get ~190's across the board.
also, if you are gonna be boosting, the mechanical upkeep on the car will be a lot greater than stock. the easiest thing to be able to do will be to do a compression check, it takes 15 minutes and their are any number of people on this board who would be willing to walk you through it. good luck.
