BLOWN MOTOR! WHAT DO I DO?
I have a 1999 civic ex with excellent body condition. My car wasn't idiling right and the shop has come to realize that my motor has no compression. The motor has 75,000 miles on it. I can get another 99 civic ex motor with 30,000 miles installed for 1,400. Are there any other options such as bigger motor/rebuild with new head (gsr/si).
go to a junk yard
find a motor
but it for like 400-600 bux
buy some beer
invite some friends and thier tools
swap it yourself in a weekend
Pocket 500-700 bux
or rebuild

yeah b16 or b18........do a search mostly everyone here has a swwap.....1400 is okay but still pricey cuz they'll reuse your tranny and mani's I assume
What i did was i blew my original motor in my old 92 hatch i had, and was deciding to either get the same motor or a b series swap. I always wanted to get a swap, so now was the time for me to do it. I just saved about a month and a half of work, with spending money on the side of course. I LOVED IT and was glad i did it.
Its really up to you and what u plan on doing with your car.
Its your call.
