tranny blues
Ok, I'm flying down the road and all of a sudden I hear "cling!!" Kinda like I just ran over something metal. So I slow down and give the car a lookover. Nothing seems to be wrong. Later that night, I start hearing a sound...a whining sound coming from the front drivers side. Put the clutch in...sound goes away. Ride out, sound is loud as ****. So I'm thinking it's my brakes. I just checked them over and they seem to be fine. I think it might be a bearing or something in the tranny? What do y'all think?
A whining sound from the transmission that goes away when you engage the clutch is usually due to the throw-out bearing. Have you checked to see if you have enough tranny fluid lately?
pull off the boot where the release fork goes in. Look in there and see if the bearing is still connected correctly to the arm. Maybe it popped off or a piece somehow bent or disconnected to the fork.
